On May 30, 2023, China's Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft was successfully launched. The three Chinese Taikonauts, Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, Gui Haichao, will start their six-month space adventure in China's Tiangong Space Station. One of their important tasks in space is to display the First Prize winning works in the “My Dream” Painting Competition for African Youth launched in March this year.

The award ceremony will be held in September this year, during which Chinese Taikonauts will talk to young African friends, and show the exhibition of their paintings in the Tiangong Space Station. After the space trip, one of the Taikonauts will attend the award ceremony in Beijing, and talk with African friends via video link.

If you are interested in talking with Taikonauts, please send your questions along with your name, age, gender, as well as your contact information to Chinese Embassy in Botswana via email: chinaemb_bw@mfa.gov.cn. You are kindly required to send email no later than June 30, 2023. And be sure to use “African youth's dreams fly to space” in the subject line.
