On January 14, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana Fan Yong paid a courtesy call to Botswana's First Lady H.E. Mrs. Kaone Boko to exchange views on China-Botswana friendly cooperation.

Ambassador Fan conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes from Professor Peng Liyuan, the First Lady of China, introduced the ten partnership actions of the FOCAC Beijing Summit 2024 and extended the willingness that the Chinese Embassy in Botswana will work closely with the Office of the First Lady of Botswana to strengthen the cooperation in the fields of women, children, culture and education for the benefit of the two peoples.

H.E. Mrs. Kaone Boko asked Ambassador Fan to convey her sincere greetings and respect to Professor Peng Liyuan, and thanked China for its long-term support on the development of women and children in Botswana, and is looking forward to conducting more cooperation with the Chinese side to add new impetus to the friendly relations between the two countries.
