On Jan 21, 2024, H.E. Fan Yong, Ambassador of China to Botswana, paid a courtesy call to Hon. Major General Pius Mokgware, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs.

Ambassador Fan congratulated Hon. Major General Pius Mokgware on his assumption of office and said that this year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Botswana diplomatic relations. China is willing to work with Botswana to jointly further people-to-people exchanges and promote China Botswana strategic partnership with more tangible benefits.

Major General Mokgware spoke highly of Botswana-China relations and the achievements of cooperation in various fields, adding that the Ministry is willing to provide assistance to Chinese citizens coming to Botswana for investment, business, tourism, so as to promote greater development in Botswana-China relations.
