Ambassador Fan Yong Attended the Reception for Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and Ambassador’s Welcoming Reception

On September 23, 2024, Ambassador Fan Yong  attended the reception held by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 75th  anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and  Ambassador's welcoming reception. About 200 people attended the  reception, including Speaker of Parliament, Minister for State  President, Minister of Defense and Security, Minister of Communications,  Minister of Youth, Deputy Speaker, other senior government  officials, foreign envoys and representatives from all walks of life.



In  his speech, Ambassador Fan reviewed the historic achievements of the  People's Republic of China since its founding 75 years ago,  introduced the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee  and the important outcomes of the 2024 FOCAC Summit. Ambassador Fan said  that next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of  diplomatic relations between China and Botswana, as the new Chinese  Ambassador to Botswana, he will take China-Botswana strategic  partnership as a new starting point, and do every endeavor to implement  the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the  development of China-Botswana relations.



In  his remarks, Hon. Kabo Morwaeng congratulated the People's Republic of  China on the 75th anniversary of its founding and welcomed Ambassador  Fan to his new post, emphasizing that Botswana will firmly adhere to the  one-China principle and is willing to take the 50th anniversary of  diplomatic ties as an opportunity to promote the development of  strategic partnership.
