Botswana Media: Botswana to benefit from China’s fast-growing economy

On October 17, 2024,  Botswana Guardian published an article "Botswana to benefit from China's  fast-growing economy" by Dikarabo Ramadubu.



The  article said that, during the recent celebration of the 75th  Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, it was  highlighted that over the past 75 years, the Communist Party of China  has united its people and led them to achieve remarkable feats-rapid  economic growth and long-term social stability. Chinese President Xi  Jinping addressed at the celebrating reception that building China into a  strong country and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts  through Chinese modernization is the central task for the Party and the  state on the journey ahead in the new era, and China will continue to  promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the  Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative,  actively participate in the reform and improvement of the global  governance system to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The  article also said that not long ago, the Botswana delegation attended  the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Dr.  Lemogang Kwape, Botswana's Foreign Minister, confirmed in a relevant  interview that China is actively promoting a multipolar world and hopes  to strengthen cooperation with countries in the world, especially  African countries. As the world's fastest-growing economy and the second  largest one, China has the capacity to lead this collective  modernization effort with African countries, including Botswana. Kwape  noted that this is a welcome development for Botswana and Botswana  stands ready to benefit greatly, especially in areas such as new energy  vehicles, connectivity, export of beef and diamonds under the framework  of the FOCAC and the Belt and Road Initiative.
