At  the invitation of the Parliament of Botswana, His Excellency Mr. Shao  Hong, Vice Chairman of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese  People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a delegation to  Botswana from December 8 to 11. During this visit, His Excellency Mr.  Shao Hong met His Excellency Duma Gideon Boko, President of Botswana,  Honorable Dithapelo Keorapetse, Speaker of the National Assembly of  Botswana, and Kgosi Puso Gaborone, Chairperson of Ntlo Ya Dikgosi. 

His  Excellency Mr. Shao Hong said that China attaches great importance to  China-Botswana relations and supports the governance of the new  government of Botswana. China will make efforts to continue the  traditional friendship and enhance bilateral cooperation. China is  willing to work with Botswana to implement the outcomes of the 2024  Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, jointly promote  modernization, and make greater contributions to building an all-weather  China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.  Mr. Shao  also introduced the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th  Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The  Botswana side reiterated its firm adherence to the one-China principle  and said that China sent a high-level delegation to visit Botswana  shortly after the establishment of the new government, which  demonstrates China's firm support for Botswana. Botswana is willing to  strengthen practical cooperation with China in various fields, continue  traditional friendship and improve bilateral relations to a higher  level.

Ambassador Fan Yong accompanied the delegation to participate in relevant activities.
