On March 4, Ambassador Fan Yong paid a courtesy call on Minister of Environment and Tourism Hon. Mmolotsi. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of environment and tourism between China and Botswana.

Ambassador Fan introduced the ten partnership actions of the FOCAC Beijing Summit 2024 proposed by President Xi Jinping. He said that green development is a key area of cooperation between China and Botswana. China is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to share with Botswana its successful experience in Chinese Modernization, especially green development and continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of environmental protection, tourism, talent development and so on.

Hon. Mmolotsi thanks China for its valuable support for Botswana's economic and social development over the past 50 years. He said that Botswana attaches great importance to developing good relations with China. Botswana is one of the safest countries in Africa with abundant tourism resources and welcomes more Chinese tourists to visit Botswana.
