On May 7th, Ambassador Fan Yong and Ms. Tlangelani Shilubane-Pietersen, Head of Office of UNFPA - Botswana, signed the completion certificate on the health care project. Chinese Government, in collaboration with UNFPA, provided earmarked assistance to ensure the safety of Botswana's medical staffs and women's reproductive health during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ambassador Fan said the project is a successful practice of South-South cooperation. China is willing to work with the Botswana side and international organizations such as the United Nations Population Fund to consolidate and expand China-Botswana cooperation in the field of health care.

Ms. Shilubane-Pietersen thanked the Chinese government for its valuable assistance in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and ensured the health and safety of Botswana's medical workers and women in impoverished areas. UNFPA is willing to continue to strengthen practical cooperation with China and Botswana.
