Reception to bid farewell to the leaving DCM and welcome the new held in the Chinese Embassy

On May 14, the Chinese Embassy in Botswana held a reception to bid farewell to the leaving Deputy Chief of Mission Minister-Counselor Guo Zhenguang and welcome the incoming Minister-Counselor Tao Lili. Mr. Fan Yong, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana,Ambassador Ramodimoosi,permanent secretary and other senior government officials, members from the diplomatic corps and international organizations, representatives from the local Chinese community attended.

In his remarks, Ambassador Fan Yong highlighted the rapid development of China-Botswana relations in recent years and commended Minister-Counselor Guo for his significant contributions to advancing bilateral exchanges and cooperation across various fields. He extended best wishes for Guo’s future endeavors and warmly welcomed Minister-Counselor Tao Lili,  and calling for continued support for the embassy’s work.

Minister-Counselor Guo recalled on his tenure in Botswana, expressing gratitude to colleagues and friends for their support during his service. Minister-Counselor Tao conveyed her enthusiasm for assuming her new role and pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders to foster further progress in China-Botswana relations.

The reception concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with guests recalling their friendship and wishes for even more fruitful cooperation between the China and Botswana.
