On June 19, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana Fan Yong paid a courtesy call to Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education Hon. Kebuang N. Kgafela-Mokoka.

Ambassador Fan introduced women's and children's rights and education training related programs in the 10 partnership action plans proposed on the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation(FOCAC) to Hon. Kebuang N. Kgafela-Mokoka and said that the Chinese Embassy in Botswana is willing to actively assist in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in strengthening education, and help more children in Botswana receive quality education.

Hon. Kebuang N. Kgafela-Mokoka thanked Chinese government and the Chinese Embassy in Botswana for the long-term assistance and support to the development of child welfare and basic education. She emphasized that the facilities provided by the China-aid schools have made significant contributions to the basic education in Botswana. She looked forward to further deepening practical cooperation with China, accelerating the improvement of the educational situation of Botswana's children, and therefore consolidating the foundation for talent development.
