On June 25, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana Fan Yong paid a courtesy call on Botswana’s Chief Justice Ketlogetswe to exchange views on strengthening friendly cooperation between the two sides.

Ambassador Fan stated that judicial exchanges and cooperation are important parts of the China-Botswana strategic partnership. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, during which judicial cooperation has steadily advanced. China is willing to work with the High Court of Botswana and other relevant institutions to promote more practical outcomes in bilateral judicial cooperation under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Chief Justice Ketlogetswe spoke positively of the bilateral relationship and expressed appreciation for China’s longstanding and valuable support for Botswana’s development in various sectors. He said that Botswana is willing to further strengthen judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
