On Jan. 24, 2025, Chinese Embassy in Botswana and the Office of the First Lady jointly organized the handover ceremony of sanitary pads donated by Fujian Province. Botswana's First Lady H.E. Mrs. Kaone Boko, H.E. Fan Yong, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana and his spouse Counselor Cui Yin attended.

Ambassador Fan introduced China's achievements in the development of women and children's interests and rights, appreciated H.E. Mrs. Kaone Boko for her efforts to promote China-Botswana friendship. He said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Botswana. China is always willing to strengthen the cooperation with Botswana in the fields of women, children, culture and education and jointly push forward the development of China-Botswana strategic partnership!

H.E. Mrs. Kaone Boko thanked China’s long-term support on the welfare of women and children in Botswana, appreciated the generous donations made by the People's Government of Fujian Province and the Chinese Embassy. She hopes that the two sides will keep close communication, actively expand friendly exchanges and cooperation in various fields and contribute to the further development of bilateral relations.
