On February 27, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana H.E. Fan Yong and Hon. Ndaba Gaolathe, Vice President and Minister of Finance of Botswana signed the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the two governments.

Ambassador Fan stated that China and Botswana have always enjoyed a long history of friendship with fruitful results in practical cooperation. With the implementation of the Agreement and other outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit 2024, the cooperation in various fields between the two countries will be deepened so as to further promote the bilateral relations.

 Hon. Ndaba Gaolathe spoke highly of China's remarkable achievements, and expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by China to Botswana. He looks forward to deepening cooperation with China, making positive contributions to the economic growth and people's livelihood of Botswana.
