On March 17, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana H.E. Fan Yong accepted a live interview by Roberta Akanyang, host of Duma FM, a leading Botswana mainstream radio station. During the interview, Ambassador Fan highlighted the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana and reviewed the development of bilateral ties over the past five decades.

Ambassador Fan reflected on the journey and achievements of China-Botswana relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago. He introduced the contributions made by Chinese enterprises to the economic and social development of Botswana and a series of anniversary events planned to commemorate the milestone. He emphasized China’s commitment to strengthening bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges to further advance the relationship.
