On March 27, Ambassador Fan Yong met with Minister of Sports and Arts Hon. Jacob Kelebeng. The two sides exchanged views on jointly enhancing the level of people-to-people exchange and cooperation between China and Botswana and strengthening the cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, media and other areas.

Ambassador Fan said that the people-to-people exchange partnership is one of the ten partnership initiatives on China-Africa modernization put forward by President Xi Jinping at the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and that China will work with the Botswana side to strengthen practical cooperation in the field of people-to-people exchange.

Hon. Kelebeng thanked the Chinese government for its long-term valuable support in the fields of sports and cultural exchanges, and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
