On June 25th, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana H.E. Fan Yong attended the Chinese Embassy Open Day and the Award Ceremony for the "My Story with China" Online Multimedia Competition and  held at the Chinese Embassy in Botswana.

The event was attended by approximately 50 participants, including competition winners, prominent Botswana online influencers, followers of the Embassy’s Facebook, and young representatives from various institutions based in Botswana.

Ambassador Fan Yong and Minister Counsellor Tao Lili presented the awards to the winners.

Ambassador Fan expressed his pleasure at meeting young online followers in person, noting that such interactions not only demonstrate the mutual learning and integration of civilizations between China and Botswana, but also reflect that the deep friendship between the two countries has been passed on to the younger generation.

Young diplomats from the Embassy guided the guests through the public areas of the Embassy, offering explanations on Chinese history and culture, as well as briefings on China’s foreign policy and China-Botswana relations.

 Award winners actively engaged with the event and delivered heartfelt remarks, expressing admiration for the beauty of Chinese culture, the kindness of the Chinese people, and the depth of the China-Botswana friendship. Many voiced their willingness to contribute to strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations in the future.

This competition is one of the flagship events marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana.
