On November 1, 2025, Ambassador Fan Yong attended a Medical Outreach and Consultation Programme held by the 17th China medical team in Mokolodi Village of Botswana. Hon. Nelson Ramaotwana, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, and Hon. Kagiso Mmusi, Member of Parliament also attended.

Ambassador Fan stated that since 1981, China has sent 17 batches of medical teams to Botswana, with a total of over 500 medical personnel. They have treated more than 3 million patients in total and introduced advanced medical technologies and equipment, making great contributions to the people's friendship and the practical cooperation between China and Botswana.
Minister Ramaotwana said that the Botswana government is facing the challenges of tight finances and resource shortages, and praised this medical outreach as being of great significance and helpful in improving the health of local residents.
During the activity, the medical team gave health care lectures, and provided on-site medical counseling, blood pressure and glucose testing services to the local people. Representatives of Chinese community also donated daily necessities.
