On November 21, Chinese Ambassador Fan Yong and  Mayor of Gaborone Oarabile Motlaleng attended “Dialogue between Chinese Ambassador and Gaborone City Mayor” hosted by Chinese Embassy. Several city councilors and Embassy officials participated in the event.

    Ambassador Fan gave an in-depth briefing on the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and introduced China’s “One-China principle” and the development of  China–Botswana relations. Mayor Motlaleng and several Gaborone councilors shared their impressions from the recent visit to China.

    This event was part of the “Dialogue Between the Chinese Ambassador and Botswana Political Leader” series. Botswana Television and Radio Botswana conducted full coverage and will broadcast a special feature during prime time. Medias from Chinese and Botswana also reported on the event.
