On April 10, Ambassador Fan Yong paid a courtesy call to Mr. Dick Bayford, Attorney General of Botswana. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening judicial cooperation between China and Botswana.

Ambassador Fan introduced the Framework Agreement on Economic Partnership for Common Development and China’s zero-tariff treatment for African countries. He noted that China stands ready to maintain close coordination with the Office of the Attorney General to achieve more concrete results, thereby promoting the continuous development of the China–Botswana strategic partnership.

Bayford spoke highly of China’s remarkable achievements in economic and social development, and expressed appreciation for China’s contributions to Botswana’s development. He reaffirmed Botswana’s commitment to the one-China principle and stated that the Office will continue to provide legal and procedural supports for bilateral cooperation, and further deepen practical cooperation across various fields.
