On October 24, 2025, Ambassador to Botswana Fan Yong presented China's foreign policy to Botswana National Assembly and Ntlo ya Dikgosi. Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Keorapetse, Members of Parliament, Members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi, totaling about 60 people, attended the event.

  Ambassador Fan, drawing on Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V), actively elaborated on the latest achievements of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He introduced the One-China principle, four major global initiatives, and the Global Women’s Summit, calling on both sides to accelerate the negotiation and signing of a Common Development Economic Partnership Agreement, implement zero-tariff measures for goods from Botswana, and further advance the strategic partnership between the two countries.

  Hon. Speaker Keorapetse expressed gratitude for China’s long-term and valuable support, noting that Ambassador Fan’s presentation would help the new members of parliament and chiefs gain a clearer understanding of China-related principles and major issues, as well as the key directions for the development of Botswana–China relations. He said this would better promote cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
