On January 15, 2026, Ms. Tao Lili, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Botswana, met with Mr. Mpho Motlhabani, UDC Communication officer.

Ms. Tao Lili briefed Mr. Motlhabani on the Fourth Plenary Session of 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China，four global initiatives and expressed willingness to take the next 50 years of China-Botswana relations as a new starting point, and strive to achieve new results in practical cooperation across all fields and in fostering mutual understanding between our peoples in 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges.

Mr. Motlhabani spoke highly of Chinese modernization and hopes to promote media exchanges and cooperation.
