The Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Organizes Diplomatic Envoys of African Countries to China to Visit Memorial Sites in the Outskirts of Beijing

On July 24, 2021, the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry organized diplomatic envoys of African countries to China to visit the Bai Yihua Memorial Museum in Miyun. Ambassadors of Cameroon, Niger, Central Africa, Somalia, Chad, Lesotho, Madagascar, South Africa and African Union to China, and senior diplomats from Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo attended the tour, accompanied by Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Peng.

The envoys learned about the details of the resistance against Japanese aggression in Miyun through Martyr Bai Yihua's stories, and spoke highly of the tremendous sacrifice and unremitting efforts made by the Chinese people for the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. They also listened to the introduction to Miyun Reservoir, visited Beijing WTown, learned about local people's efforts to protect lucid waters and lush mountains, and appreciated China's concept of green development.

The envoys thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for organizing this tour, spoke highly of the great achievements that the Chinese people have made under the leadership of the Communist Party of China on the journey of national liberation and state development, and said they are ready to continue serving as a bridge and contribute to the further development of Africa-China relations.
