From October 26 to 27, 2016, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Ambassador Xu Jinghu attended at invitation the 7th High-Level Retreat of Special Envoys and Mediators on the Promotion of Peace, Security and Stability of the African Union (AU) held in Sharm El Sheikh of Egypt. Special Representative Xu Jinghu made remarks at the retreat, introducing China's constructive participation in peace and security affairs in Africa, as well as China's position and views on the peaceful settlement of hotspot issues in Africa.

H.E. Ambassador Kuang Weilin, Head of the Chinese Mission to the AU, attended the meeting.
